Words Alive is a San Diego organization that supports K-12 literacy, book groups for young people, and reading education in the greater San Diego community. It sponsors tutors, volunteers, and purchases of books and equipment for primary and secondary school students. In addition, Words Alive hosts fundraising events, including the annual luncheon and auction featuring me in conversation with a visiting author. Recent public conversations I have done include those with Anna Quindlen, Isabelle Allende, and Emma Donoghue. In the Fall of 2020, I’ll be in conversation with Ayad Akhtar in a recorded interview. For information about Words Alive, its mission and activities, and some of my events, go to: www.wordsalive.org.
